Seeking: Beach Front English Teacher
(Puerto López – Manabí-Ecuador)

Length: 3 months (October 2011)
Working hours: Monday to Friday 25 hours per week.

This position calls for a motivated individual who is willing to dedicate time and energy to help develop Café de Lenguas, a centre for language and cultural exchange in Puerto Lopez, Ecuador.  There will be one English teacher (native speaker, for adults and kids) and one Spanish teacher (Paola, the founder.)  The new “café” will involve weekly language & cultural exchanges, and a small library.  Additionally, language classes will be offered for individuals and groups (English and Spanish.)  The goal is to encourage interaction between different cultures, to expand language skills, and to create a vibrant community between English and Spanish speakers in Puerto Lopez. 
Location:  Puerto Lopez, Ecuador
Café de Lenguas is in Puerto Lopez, a quiet fishing town, with an international tourist crowd.  It is a beautiful property, right on the beach.  The open air café seats about 20 people, facing the ocean. Tutoring takes place in the patio classroom above, and is equipped with a map, computer and language teaching resources. Clientele:  Spanish learners are generally visitors, studying Spanish while on vacation (1 week to 8 weeks.)  English-learners are generally residents of Puerto Lopez.
